    Spring Labor & Employment Event: “Navigating the New Norms in Labor and Employment Law” on May 22, 2024

    Join the Tucker Arensberg Labor & Employment Group for our Labor & Employment event on Wednesday, May 22, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Doubletree in Green Tree.

    The format will be panel discussions along with a Q&A session with breakfast and registration beginning at 8:00 AM. This informative and interactive session is titled “Navigating the New Norms in Labor and Employment Law.” Our attorneys will be providing practical, non-legalese panel discussions regarding hot issues in employment and labor law. 

    Employers, general counsel, human resources professionals and anyone with an interest is encouraged to attend. Tucker Arensberg will provide HRCI (Human Resources Certification Institute) and CLE (Continuing Legal Education) credits for attendees.

    Our agenda for the morning will be as follows:

    8:00 – 8:45 AMRegistration and Breakfast
    8:45 – 8:55 AMWelcome and Introductions
    Each session will be an interactive, practical, non-legalese, panel discussion regarding hot issues in employment and labor law, with a full group Q&A session at the end of the program. Moderator: Albert Lee
    8:55 – 9:25 AMHR-ing like it’s 2019: How the pandemic has changed the employment and labor law landscape (with a focus on remote work, leaves, accommodation requests, and working conditions) and what employers need to do to adapt. Panelists include: Albert Lee and Jeremy Farrell.
    9:25 – 10:25 AMThe Year in Review: A look at significant recent court decisions, Federal and State laws and regulations, including three key employment law cases heard by the U.S. Supreme Court during its 2023-24 term. Panelists include: Robert McTiernan, Jeremy Farrell, and Ashley Puchalski.
    10:25 – 10:40 AMBreak
    10:40 – 11:30AMIt Doesn’t Pay to Not Pay Right: A review of key changes in Federal and State wage-and-hour laws, with an emphasis on new DOL rules regarding independent contractors, the minimum salary threshold, and new differences between State and Federal laws. Panelists include: Albert Lee, Jeremy Farrell, and Matthew McKinney.
    11:30 – 12:00 PMEmployment Law Open Discussion: Bring Your Own Question (BYOQ) This 45-minute time period is all about you. It’s an “open mic” time to ask any questions that have been afflicting you or your workforce and also hear from others in your field. Come prepared with questions or jot them down during the panel discussions and get ready to have your burning questions answered.
