EEOC Sets New Enforcement Priorities: Why Employers Should Take Note

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has outlined its enforcement priorities through 2029, providing employers with insight into the workplace policies and practices likely to receive increased scrutiny in the coming years.

In the October 2026 edition of Iron & Steel Technology magazine, Tucker Arensberg attorney Jeremy Farrell examines the EEOC’s new National Enforcement Plan in the publication’s Legal Perspectives column, including:

  • Scrutiny of DEI-related employment policies and practices
  • National origin discrimination in recruiting and hiring
  • Workplace policies involving sex-based distinctions and employee expression
  • Religious accommodations and protections under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
  • Increased attention to discriminatory practices, vulnerable workers and the use of artificial intelligence in employment decisions

The article also explores how recent Supreme Court decisions may influence enforcement activity and offers considerations for employers reviewing their workplace policies and compliance practices.
