He brings a strong foundation in tax, accounting, and financial analysis to his work assisting individuals, families, and business clients with estate planning, trust administration, tax compliance, and business structuring.
At Tucker Arensberg, Joe supports clients in estate and trust planning, tax filings, and transactional matters. His experience includes preparing complex returns, evaluating trust mergers, and analyzing the tax implications of reorganizations and asset transfers. He has also researched legislative updates and technical tax issues, including §1033 involuntary exchanges, cancellation of debt income exceptions, and Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) rules.
Before joining the firm, Joe worked at Schneider Downs, where he supported high-net-worth clients with estate and tax planning. He also gained experience at PJ Dick–Trumbull–Lindy and BNY Mellon, developing a strong background in corporate tax, financial reporting, and accounting. His multidisciplinary experience allows him to approach client matters with both legal and business insight.
Joe earned his B.S.B.A. in Accounting and Finance, cum laude, from Duquesne University, where he served as President of both Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Interfraternity Council. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he completed the Tax Law Concentration, received the CALI Award of Excellence in Estate and Gift Tax, and was honored with the Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Student Award for his work in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Joe also served as an Associate Editor for the Pittsburgh Tax Review and was on the winning team of the 2023 Ronald D. Ecker Memorial Negotiation and Client Counseling Competition.
