Ryan Gailey is a trial attorney focused on criminal defense and litigation. He brings a unique perspective to criminal defense, having spent nearly a decade working in corrections and law enforcement before becoming an attorney. His experience as a patrol officer and Detective Captain gives him firsthand knowledge of how investigations are conducted, allowing him to closely examine discovery, identify investigative efficiencies and recognize areas where critical steps may have been overlooked.
Ryan is driven by a fundamental belief that the Commonwealth must follow the rules and that every person charged with a crime is entitled to a thorough and effective defense. He approaches each case with determination, carefully examining every aspect of the Commonwealth’s evidence and aggressively pursuing the best possible defense for his clients.
His law-enforcement background includes serving as Detective Captain with the City of Aliquippa Bureau of Police, where he was responsible for investigating major crimes, including homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and sexual assault. He is also wiretap certified. His investigative experience has proven particularly valuable in complex criminal matters, where understanding how evidence is developed can provide important insight into the strengths and weaknesses of the Commonwealth’s case.
Ryan has achieved significant results at trial, including a homicide acquittal in Commonwealth v. Decarlos Warren, in which he also successfully secured appeals of two aggravated assault convictions. Earlier in his career, he received the Patrolman James Naim Award from the Beaver County District Attorney for his work investigating and prosecuting a sexual assault case, as well as a Distinguished Service Award from the City of Aliquippa.
Ryan strives to be known as a professional, honorable and effective trial attorney who treats clients, opposing counsel and the courts with courtesy and civility. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania, Allegheny County and Beaver County Bar Associations.
Outside of his legal practice, Ryan enjoys hunting, fly fishing and, occasionally, rodeo.
The same attributes that have anchored over a century of success are still our guiding principles today.
