    Tucker Arensberg Spring Labor & Employment Event: Employment Law in 2026: What Every Employer Must Know

    The Moderator will give an overview of the program, introduce the speakers, and preview the topics each panel will address. Each session will provide updates on recent labor and employment law changes and recent shifts at the federal and state levels. Moderator: Albert Lee
    8:55 – 9:40Immigration Compliance, ICE Enforcement & Workplace Policies
    This session will examine the growing impact of immigration enforcement in the workplace, including how to prepare for and respond to ICE activity. Panelists will explain the key differences between administrative and judicial warrants, arrest warrants, informal requests for information, and outline employer obligations in each scenario. The session will also provide practical guidance on I-9 compliance, E-Verify considerations, employee handbook updates, and include recommendations on designating and training managers and response team members. Attendees will leave with clear, actionable steps to reduce risk while maintaining a compliant and respectful workplace.

    9:40-10:25AI, Cybersecurity, Employee Privacy and Privilege Considerations An update on the latest developments in AI use in hiring and workplace management, along with cybersecurity and privacy concerns impacting employee data. This session will also address emerging issues surrounding attorney-client privilege and the risks associated with employee use of generative AI tools (including ChatGPT searches).

    10:25-10:40Break
    10:40-11:30Legal Developments in Employment: PA & Federal Updates A review of recent Pennsylvania and federal updates, including criminal background checks, drug testing and marijuana laws, pay transparency requirements, and key NLRB developments impacting employer policies and workplace practices.

    11:30-12:00Employment Law Open Discussion: Bring Your Own Question (BYOQ) This 30-minute time period is all about you. It’s an “open mic” time to ask any questions that have been afflicting you or your workforce, and also hear from others in your field. Submit questions beforehand or jot them down during the panel discussions, and get ready to have your questions answered.   All of the attorneys who participated in the panels will be in front of the group to answer questions.
