

Drannon L. Adkins is a Shareholder in Tucker Arensberg’s Charleston office whose practice focuses on civil rights defense litigation, governmental liability, insurance defense, and complex civil litigation. With more than a decade of litigation experience, Drannon regularly represents municipalities, law enforcement agencies, public officials, and governmental entities in state and federal courts throughout West Virginia.
Drannon has extensive experience defending claims brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, including allegations involving excessive force, wrongful arrest, First Amendment retaliation, and other constitutional claims. In addition to his litigation practice, he advises governmental clients on risk management, policy compliance, training, and litigation avoidance strategies. He is frequently called upon to assist municipalities, counties, and public agencies with navigating high-exposure matters and implementing proactive policies designed to reduce liability exposure.

Before joining Tucker Arensberg, Drannon practiced with regional litigation firms where he concentrated on governmental liability, civil rights defense, insurance defense, and appellate advocacy.
Drannon lives in Poca, West Virginia, with his wife and children. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys coaching youth baseball, spending time with family and friends, teaching and mentoring others, and supporting West Virginia University athletics.
