Alexa “Lexi” Shapiro focuses her practice on representing public sector clients in litigation, real estate matters, and regulatory compliance. She advises municipalities, public authorities, and other government-related entities on a wide range of legal issues, including land use and zoning matters, Right-to-Know Law requests, eminent domain proceedings, and commercial disputes.
Lexi works closely with public authority clients to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Her experience includes preparing grants, resolutions, and contract extensions, assisting with public records requests, and attending board meetings to provide legal support and guidance. She also represents public entities in eminent domain proceedings and related legal challenges.
In addition to her public sector work, Lexi assists clients with real estate due diligence for commercial acquisitions, including the review and analysis of title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and environmental assessments. She also supports litigation matters involving landlord-tenant disputes, commercial litigation, and real estate tax assessment appeals.
Lexi enjoys the challenge of complex legal issues and is particularly motivated by developing practical, forward-looking solutions for clients. She focuses on understanding her clients’ concerns and helping them address legal risks proactively, before they escalate into litigation.
Before entering private practice, Lexi interned with the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender, where she supported attorneys in juvenile, pretrial, and trial matters and conducted legal research on constitutional and criminal law issues.
